Although we handle a small number of “one-off” complex litigation matters at any given time, the majority of our clients are long-time business owners, private investors, serial entrepreneurs, and other hard-working individuals and families whom we have represented for years in a variety of matters.

Business Law

Notable Recent Accomplishment: Successfully represented an employer who lost a business opportunity to an employee in violation of contractual restrictive covenants, resulting in a paid settlement in excess of $250,000 negotiated at mediation.
Real Estate Law
- Assist private investors with the acquisition of real estate and enforcement of secured interests in real estate
- Assist property owners with issues related to deed restrictions, including clearing title of abandoned or unenforceable restrictions
- Assist investment property owners and secured lenders with the defense of title to their property
- Assist property owners with a variety of boundary disputes
- Draft and negotiate easement rights
- Represent landlords and tenants in commercial and retail eviction matters
- Represent landlords in residential eviction matters
- Draft and negotiate commercial and retail leases
- Enforce and defend against commercial and retail leases and guarantees
- Represent brokers, realtors and owners in administrative matters
- Represent property owners in nondisclosure litigation
Notable Recent Accomplishment: Obtained a judgment in excess of $1.5 million against a borrower and two personal guarantors after defeating claims of fraud and negligent misrepresentation. The matter went to verdict after a three-day jury trial held in February 2021 (during the pandemic).
Construction Law
- Draft and negotiate construction contracts for commercial and residential developments as well as custom homes, typically with a value in excess of $2 million
- Represent owners and contractors in payment disputes and lien enforcement issues
- Represent contractors, materialmen, and owners in administrative proceedings
- Represent developers, owners, architects, and contractors in custom home and commercial construction defect matters
- Represent developers, owners, architects, contractors, and lenders in other construction contract disputes
- Represent owners, architects, contractors, and lenders in horizontal construction issues
Notable Recent Accomplishment: Successfully terminated a contractor from a multi-million-dollar, multi-project development contract without litigation and negotiated a new AIA contract with a new contractor to keep construction on track.
Employment Law
- Assist employers in the development and implementation of policies to comply with state and federal law
- Represent employers in the drafting and enforcement of restrictive covenants, including non-compete, confidentiality, and anti-piracy provisions
- Assist employers with implementing safeguards to help protect against the misappropriation of trade secrets and pursue claims when necessary
- Represent employers in claims related to sales commission disputes
- Defend and pursue claims for shareholder and member oppression and freeze-out disputes
